Guided Tarkine Rainforest Walks
Located just 35 minutes from Burnie Airport Tarkine Wilderness Lodge offers walks through the pristine Tarkine Rainforest. Your hosts at the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge are experienced guides who can escort you on a safe, yet breathtaking stroll through the largest temperate rainforests in the southern hemisphere, providing visitors with plenty of information on this ancient 60 million year old forest home to many threatened and endangered species. Breathtaking Flora and Fauna
During your walk you will see a large variety of plant species ranging from tall Eucalyptus, giant Myrtles, Sassafras, Blackwood and an abundance of ferns, mosses and lichens. Also the vast variety of wildlife in their natural habitat. The various walking tracks and trails meander gently under the rainforest canopy and pass by several small creeks and rivers. Our walks cater to every fitness level and are a great way to promote corporate and group team building.
Mother Earths Great Gums Track
Takes you through a grove of large Stringy Bark trees some of which are 13 metres wide. Duration: 1 Hour.
Heritage Track
This beautiful walk meanders through the temperate rainforest following the old mossy board road, a relic of the early logging pioneers, to the old mill site. Duration: 3 Hours.
Double Dip Track
This track follows the Dip River, home to the giant freshwater crayfish and platypus. Duration: 2 Hours.

Departure Times and Costings
Walks depart from the Tarkine Wilderness Lodge at 10.30am and cost $35 per person or $55 per person including BBQ lunch served at 1pm. Group bookings are also welcome. *All walks are subject to availability and weather conditions. To avoid disappointment bookings are essential.
